Sangudo grad publishes novel!
Posted on:In life, Edgar Vincent always maintained one great passion—himself. A semi-successful composer, his rock star lifestyle suited him well, and his narcissistic outlook ensured he was a man with few concerns. So when Edgar finds himself in the cloudy planes of the afterlife on one particularly bleak Sunday morning, he determines that in order to find peace, he must try to figure out how he got to this point…and where he’s meant to be going now.
Excerpt from Edgar's Worst Sunday by Brad Oates
Brad Oates grew up in Mayerthorpe and attended school in Sangudo from Kindergarten to Grade 12. He developed a passion for literature at an early age, and recalls being curled up on the couch with his parents and siblings as they read 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings'. He was class valedictorian, graduating from Sangudo Jr/Sr High School in 2002.
Brad's journey led him to Edmonton where he studied psychology and philosophy and began a career working with underprivileged kids. His current position involves supporting community initiatives through Strathcona Family and Community Services. On his own time, he's a writer with "the intention of entertaining, while drawing attention to a variety of social and interpersonal quandaries."
His debut novel is a fictional, dark comedy and can be found in stores and online now! You can find more Brad Oates on his blog, BradOHInc.com.
