Grasmere School receives $3,000 from community association!
Posted on:Alberta Beach softball association donates $3,000 to Grasmere School! The funds will go towards food and vet bills for Grasmere School's Facility Dog, Hero!
"We are very grateful to the Alberta Beach and District Amateur Softball Association (ABADASA) and to our community for the generous donation," shared Grasmere School Principal Shelley Wyman. "The money raised will go towards supporting the food and vet bills for our Facility Dog, Hero.
Every day Hero makes a difference for the students in our building. He listens to them read and is a quiet, supportive audience. If students are feeling anxious or upset Hero will rest his head on their lap and be a calming presence. By just walking down the hallways or sitting in a classroom, he brings a smile to all our faces. The impact Hero has had on our school is immeasurable and we thank the community for their recognition and support of his services."
ABADASA raised the money as part of their very popular annual charity golf tournament. The tournament raised $6,000 in total. Half of the money is being generously donated to Grasmere School with the other half going to Dogs with Wings, where Hero, and so many other Service Dogs, are trained.
Tremendous thanks to ABADASA and the community for their generous support!
