New Valleyview Elementary Principal announced
Posted on:NGPS is pleased to welcome Ms. Cheryl Gascoyne to the Division as an elementary school principal in Valleyview, effective August 2024.
NGPS staff may recognize Ms. Gascoyne from her work as an educational consultant with Jigsaw Learning where her duties included facilitating professional development for educators, creating literacy course content, supporting school divisions in achieving literacy goals, and establishing and facilitating a Beginning Teachers Support program.
Prior to her work with Jigsaw Learning, Cheryl served as a Learning Services Coordinator with Wolf Creek Public Schools, and as an Early Learning and Literacy Lead, and Literacy Inclusion Coach, with Red Deer Catholic School Division. Throughout her career, Cheryl has demonstrated a thorough knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices while fostering inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive.
NGPS Superintendent Kevin Bird commented, "Cheryl is an experienced leader who understands how effective communication and collaboration positively impact school culture. Her knowledge and experience will be an asset to the Valleyview team."

Ms. Gascoyne holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Master of Education degree from the University of Alberta.
