New Principal Announced for Onoway Jr/Sr High School

Northern Gateway Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Paul Jespersen has accepted the position of Principal of Onoway Jr/Sr High School (OJSH), effective August 2024. 

Mr. Jespersen joined Northern Gateway Public Schools as the Assistant Principal of OJSH in 2021, bringing with him a commitment to trust-based, authentic relationships and instructional leadership. His administrative experience and dedication to student engagement have served the OJSH community well, encouraging trust and collaboration among colleagues, students and within the school community.

In his past experiences as an Assistant Principal, educator, and consultant with Alberta Education, Paul has worked extensively in the areas of professional development, school technology, teacher growth, supervision and evaluation, and curriculum development. 

NGPS Superintendent Kevin Bird commented, “Paul is an experienced administrator with a comprehensive understanding of the Onoway community and OJSH culture. We look forward to his contributions going forward.”

Mr. Jespersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the King's University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta, and a Master of Education in Leadership and School Improvement from the University of Alberta.
