Posted on:Russell deCarle, who fronted the Juno Award winning Canadian band, Prairie Oyster, along with his bandmates, Steve Briggs and Denis Keldie, are spending the day with Sangudo Community School students as part of the school's Music Mentors program. The trio have been jamming with the students and sharing their knowledge of music, instruments and the Canadian music industry.
The Music Mentors program at SCS aims to enhance students' learning through opportunities to work with and learn from working musicians and artists. Mentors share their knowledge, time and experience, answer questions, jam with students, make recommendations and offer tips on everything from performing to instruments to how to break into the Canadian music industry.
The Prairie Oyster trio is putting on a full concert at Sangudo Community School tonight beginning at 7pm. Tickets may still be available by contacting the school at 780-785-3431. Funds raised will be put into the school's growing music program and other school activities.
