Elmer Elson students are the proud keepers of a bright new buddy bench thanks to the generosity of the Alberta Beach & District Amateur Softball Association. The Association visited the school recently bestowing a cheque for $1,000 to the school to support the purchase and installation of the bench.

Buddy benches promote kindness, inclusion and acceptance of all on the playground. The bench is a special spot for kids to sit at if they are in need of a friend or friends to play with and can't find any. Likewise, children on the playground who see someone sitting at the buddy bench will know that the student on the bench needs a buddy, and answer the call.
